What the tool does
Front sprocket holding tool for 420 chains: a length of chain plus a retaining ring that braces on the kickstart or pedal shaft and blocks the sprocket.
When you need it
Front sprocket changes on the 50 and 80 cc Zündapp KS, Kreidler Florett RS and Hercules Ultra with a 420 chain.
How to use it
Remove the pedal arm or kickstart.
Wrap the tool's chain around the front sprocket, fit the retaining ring onto the shaft.
Loosen the sprocket nut. Check the thread direction beforehand.
After changing the front sprocket, tighten and secure the nut, remove the tool.
Without a holding tool, the engine turns with the nut as it is loosened, or improvised fixes damage the chain and sprocket.
Check the chain pitch: 420 is the standard chain for small capacity mopeds. For the Kreidler Florett and Flory with a 415 chain there is the sister tool.
