What the tool does
A length of chain with a retaining ring: the chain wraps around the front sprocket, and the ring braces itself on the kickstart or pedal shaft. The sprocket is blocked without anyone needing to hold it steady.
When you need it
Loosening or tightening the sprocket nut when changing the front sprocket on the Zündapp KS 125 and KS 175.
How to use it
Remove the pedal arm or kickstart lever.
Wrap the tool's chain around the front sprocket.
Fit the tool's retaining ring onto the pedal or kickstart shaft.
Loosen or tighten the sprocket nut. Check beforehand whether the shaft has a left hand or right hand thread.
Blocking the wheel with a gear engaged and the rear brake applied puts strain on the gearbox and chain; a screwdriver between the chain and sprocket damages both.
The tool holds itself in place. Use your free hand on the extension bar, not for a hammer on the spanner.
