What the tool does

A hardened pulling fixture that is fitted around the drive sprocket of the Sachs 125 engine. This lets a standard 2 or 3 leg puller engage the sprocket without loading the speedo drive housing. Supplied with instructions.

When you need it

When the sprocket on the Sachs 125 sits tight on the shaft and legs applied directly to the sprocket would damage the speedo drive.

How to use it

  1. Remove the sprocket nut, take off the locking tab.

  2. Fit the fixture behind the sprocket as per the instructions.

  3. Fit a leg puller onto the fixture, tighten the pressure screw against the shaft.

  4. Remove the sprocket, secure the key.

Without this tool

Legs gripping directly on the sprocket press on the speedo drive housing in the casing and break it out. The casing is then scrap.

Workshop tip

The leg puller is not included. A simple 2 leg puller with a 75 to 100 mm span is enough.

Fits

  • Hercules K 125 BW, GS, MC, K 125 T
  • KTM, DKW, Rixe, Horex with a Sachs 125 cc engine
