What the tool does
A flywheel puller with a single M27x1.25 right hand thread, as fitted to the Ducati ignitions on Hercules, Garelli and Malaguti mopeds. Hardened steel, hardened, loosely fitted pressure pin.
When you need it
When the M22/M26 tool does not fit because the flywheel has the larger M27 thread. Typical of Ducati ignition systems from the 1970s and 1980s.

How to use it
Loosen the flywheel nut, holding the flywheel steady.
Turn the puller clockwise into the flywheel as far as it will go.
Tighten the pressure screw against the crankshaft stub, tapping the screw head lightly with a hammer if needed.
Remove the flywheel, secure the Woodruff key.
A puller with the wrong thread only engages on a few turns and strips the thread out of the flywheel. After that, only boring out or a new flywheel will help.
Measure the flywheel thread before buying: outer diameter 27 mm, pitch 1.25 mm. The thread finder on this site helps.
