What the tool does
A hardened, coated combination spanner: 17 mm across flats, a hook spanner for the wheel hub nut and an opening for holding the axle.
When you need it
Setting wheel bearing play, loosening the hub nut, removing the wheel on vehicles with a Sachs wheel hub.
How to use it
Take the load off the wheel, loosen the lock nut with the 17 mm side.
Fit the hook spanner into the hub's slotted nut, hold the axle with the counter hold opening.
Adjust the slotted nut so the wheel runs freely and has no side play.
Tighten the lock nut, check the play again.
Turning slotted nuts with a hammer and drift destroys the slots; after that the setting can no longer be reproduced.
Always check the wheel bearing play again after locking the nut. The setting shifts slightly when the lock nut is tightened.
