What the tool does
A small tool with a red handle for screwing the valve core in and out of Schrader tyre valves.
When you need it
Changing a tube, a leaking valve, replacing the valve core, letting air out quickly.
How to use it
Remove the valve cap, fit the tool onto the valve core.
Unscrew it anticlockwise; the air escapes as you do so.
Screw the new core in by hand, only tighten it lightly with the tool.
Check for leaks with soapy water.
Without the tool, the core cannot be removed without damage; you end up changing the whole tube instead.
Replacement valve cores cost little and belong in the toolkit. A worn core is more often the cause of a slow puncture than the tube itself.
